The
Do Not Disturb feature allows you to send calls directly to voicemail
or another phone number on either a permanent or temporary basis. This
is useful if you do not wish your phones to ring for a period of time.
You can dial *78 from your phone to send callers directly to voicemail, and then *79 to turn off Do Not Disturb. This is the easiest way to enable/disable Do Not Disturb.
Using the MyPhone Portal, you have more options.
You can choose to enable Do Not Disturb as Permanent or Temporary in the Do Not Disturb field. If Temporary, you can set a Duration in
hours, after which Do Not Disturb will be disabled. This is useful if
you only want to enable Do Not Disturb during a meeting.
You
can also set the Voicemail extension that you want to send callers to.
This is mostly useful for businesses, and will default to your extension
as defined on our system. The Destination Voicemail is not validated
however, so entering a wrong number here will cause the call to be lost.
You can also forward callers to another phone number or extension. This is similar to standard Call Forwarding when enabled Permanently, although Do Not Disturb does allow for a Temporary Call Forward.
